Jessica Billiot specializes in couples, maternity, newborns and family portraits. She believes that capturing life’s fleeting moments in a natural and comfortable setting help create photographs that can be cherished for years to come- which is why she does not have a studio, but instead prefers to work on-location or in the client’s own home. Using natural light whenever possible, she is able to create images that come to life. She loves capturing those little looks people give each other when they think no one is looking. She loves to make your kids laugh- that belly laugh that leaves them breathless, eyes squeezed shut in pure joy. She loves to hear the sound of the wind blowing through the trees as a young couple walks hand-in-hand, excited to start their new life together. It’s these little things that made Jessica want to become the photographer that she is today.
Jessica’s work ethic comes from her father, who was self-employed for most of his adult life. Growing up, there was no such thing as a “weekend”. Jessica prefers to schedule her photography sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, keeping her on her toes when most people are resting and relaxing. She spent many years in retail customer service, and has been a preschool teacher for the last six years, so she knows how to work around naps, potty breaks, and the occasional last-minute wardrobe change. Dealing with all kinds of personality types has helped her to maintain a level head and mellow demeanor, which in turn puts the client at ease, and helps keep spirits high and stress low!
Jessica lives with her husband, her son, a cat and a dog in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She enjoys trying new restaurants, painting, and dreaming of the day when she can travel to Europe with her family!
